Sylvia Mae Moore Black, 79, of 263 Elm Road, passed away Wednesday, December 29th, 2021, at Upstate Community Hospice House.

Born in Rosman, NC, she was the wife of 60 years to Jerry Black and the daughter of the late Ernest Moore and Effie Englert.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Black is survived by a daughter, Susan Black Turner and husband, Rick; a son, James Richard Black and significant other, Jennifer Searls; two grandchildren, Jennifer Rouse and husband, Michael, and Joshua B. Byars; a great-granddaughter, Skylar Nicole Byars; a great-grandson, Trevor Turner; and one brother, Ronald Moore and wife, Paulette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Toby Moore, and a son-in-law, Bryson Byars.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, from 11:45 am - 12:45 pm in the Mausoleum at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Vernon Craig officiating.
