Ted Eugene Thrift, age 58, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Brian Center-Gastonia. Born October 20, 1959 he was the son of the late Ed Thrift and wife Nellie Ellison Thrift. Ted loved to cook for his wife Susan, and formerly worked for Pizza-Hut and Pizza Inn where he learned how to cook a "mean" pizza. He also worked for Thomas Petroleum where he was an assistant manager for University 66 in Boiling Springs.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his brother, James Thrift and his grandson Hunter Collins.

Ted is survived by his wife of 30 years Susan Thrift, one daughter Ashley Cook, two grandchildren, Zander Cook and Charissa Daniels as well as one nephew Quinton Thrift.

Memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Ledford Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Jackie Price and Rev. Mike Huffstetler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home located at 1904 Prentice Drive, Shelby NC 28152.
