Terry Joe Self went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2018 at Asheville Respite. He was born in Cherokee County, NC. He spend much of his time as a young man in the Oak Grove Community.

Joe was 55 years old when he entered Heaven's Glory.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Patterson Self, and his father, Sidney Wayne Self.

He leaves behind his mother, Sallie Self Mayes and step-father, Wayne Mayes of Kings Mountain, NC; his children, Ashley V. Self Smith and husband, Jamie Smith of Bessemer City, NC, Erica V. Self Smith and husband, Jame Smith of Bessemer City, NC, Eric Self of Asheville, NC; his brother, Kenneth Wayne Self and wife, Beth of Blacksburg, SC; and sister, Kathy Self Crego of Kings Mountain, NC.

A Memorial Service was held at the home of his sister, Kathy Self Crego, 116 Tiara Drive, Kings Mountain, NC on Sunday, August 12, 2018, 6:00-8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Haywood Church of Asheville, NC; The Rescue Mission of Shelby, NC; and Oak Grove Baptist Church or Youth Ministry of Kings Mountain, NC.
