Smyrna -- Thelma Inez McDaniel Lanier, 91, of 1299 Old Chester Road, passed away Wednesday, May 27th, 2015, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Smyrna, she was the widow of Sully Lanier and the daughter of the late Clarence and Maude Poteat McDaniel. Mrs. Lanier retired from textiles and was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Lanier are one son, Dever Solmon, Sr. and wife, Gladys,, of Smyrna; one brother, Jessie McDaniel and wife, Elouise, of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Dever Solmon Jr and Debbie Mullinax; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley Crawford, and husband, Douglas, Wendy Maclemore and husband, Franklin, Nikki Ramsey, Trent Solmon, and Mason Solmon; and four great-great-grandchildren, Hannah Bryant, Emily Crawford, Noah Ramsey, and Aubrey Maclemore.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Mullinax.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28th, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29th, 2015, at 1:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Mickey Mullinax officiating. Interment will follow at Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery.
