Mrs. Thelma Styers Lanier, 74, resident of 100 Wave Road, Kings Mountain, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Services were held at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Kings Mtn., NC. Burial followed in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC.
Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Luther A. “Jack” Lanier; her parents, Marvin Hunter Styers and Bertha Peterson Styers; 1 daughter, Lisa Renee Lanier; 1 son-in-law, Kenny Wells; 2 brothers, Richard Thomas Styers, Sr. and Carl Edward Styers; and 1 sister, Patricia Sue Styers.
She is survived by 2 sons, Marion Jackie Lanier of Cherryville, NC, and Paul A. Lanier and wife Tracy of Kings Mtn., NC; 1 daughter, Wanda L. Wells of Kings Mtn., NC; 3 sisters, Carolyn Sipes and husband Tex, and Mary Bradford and husband Phillip, all of Kings Mountain, NC, and Vera Crowe and husband Sammy of Gaffney, NC; 1 sister-in-law, “Becky” Styers of Kings Mountain, NC; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
