Thomas Belton Ruppe

Gaffney, SC - - Thomas Belton Ruppe, 76, of 396 El Bethel Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 19, 2016 at MUSC in Charleston.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Linda Owensby Ruppe and son of the late Admiral Dewey Ruppe and Flossie Thrift Ruppe. He retired from Gaffney Manufacturing and Monarch Mills, loved hunting, fishing, gardening, NASCAR and wrestling, his dogs, "Flipper" and "Bubba" and was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Thomas Donald Ruppe and wife, Roxanne, of Gaffney; two daughters, Linda Eslea Wolfe and husband, Robert, and Mindy Kay Ruppe, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Jeanette Hood of Shelby, NC and Bonnie Hardin of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Stephanie Ruppe, Durhan Ruppe and wife, Leighanne, Bessie Olmstead, Brandy Boland and husband, Travis, Johnny Wolfe and Michael Wolfe; 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kay Ruppe, two brothers, Glenn Ruppe and Junior Ruppe, a sister, Mae McCraw, and two grandchildren, Beth Olmstead and Sandi Wolfe.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Donald White officiating.

The family will be at the home of Ted Thompson, 388 El Bethel Road, Gaffney.
