Thomas G. "Tommy" Hamrick, Jr. age 68 of Countryside Dr. in Cherryville died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born on October 22, 1946 in Cleveland County to the late Thomas Gardner Hamrick Sr. and Johnnie Beamguard Hamrick. Tommy was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 35 years. He was the former owner of both Delview Mart and Belwood Grocery.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Brigman Hamrick of Cherryville; sons, Matthew and Trey Hamrick of Cherryville; daughters, Heather Hamrick Rivera and husband, Thomas, and Kristen Hamrick, of Cherryville and Ginger Hamrick and husband, David Allison of Belwood; grandchildren, Marlee Griffith, Chance Allison, Devon Hannah, Colton Hannah, Makenzie Ward, and Mason Hamrick; mother-in-law, Mary Brigman; and best friend, Ronnie Lail.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Wayne Key officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
