| Thomas Walter Bostic, 90, passed away on Wednesday, April 04, 2012 at Hospice Cleveland County – Wendover Facility. A native of Cleveland County he was the son of the late Chivous Lee and Beulah Velle Holland Bostic. Mr. Bostic served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where he attended the Adult 7 Sunday School class and a member of the Cleveland County Senior Golf Association. Walter loved golf, gardening, his animals and spending time with his family and friends. He was the former sales manager of Tedder Motor Company in Shelby.
Mr. Bostic is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois Stallings Bostic; daughters, Wanda Childress and husband Malcolm of Rutherfordton and Risë Bostic of Shelby; brother, Charles Bostic and wife Aileen of Gaffney, SC; sister, Catherine Harris of Ellenboro; 3 nieces; and 1 nephew.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Elizabeth Baptist Church. Dr. Rit Varriale and Rev. Clinton Padgett will be officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with military rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30pm on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. At other times the family will be at the home of Risë Bostic in Shelby.
