Cherryville - Mr. Tommy Hughes Heffner, Sr., 74, passed away on Monday,
October 2, 2017 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.

Tommy was born on June 10, 1943 in Mecklenburg County, NC son of the late
Fred H. Heffner and Moena Miller Heffner. He was retired as a welder from
Gaston County Dye and Machine in Gastonia. Tommy was an ordained minister
of the Baptist faith, and had pastored some churches over the years. He
attended Pensacola Bible Institute in Pensacola, Florida and was a lifetime
member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Myra Hardin Heffner, of the home; a
son, Tommy Heffner, Jr. of Cherryville; a daughter, Cynthia Heffner Murray
of Sylva; a sister, Hilda Farmer of Mt. Holly; seven grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Heffner.

The body will be able to be viewed at the funeral home.
