Tommy Richard Pruett, Sr. age 71, of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024.

Tommy was born on June 15th, 1953 and was the son of the late David and Ovie Pruett. In addition to his parents Tommy was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Vick Pruett and his sister, Elizabeth Owens.

Tommy worked for Dover Textiles for many years where he started out in the weaving department. Tommy will also be remembered by the many lives he touched as a loving Baptist Minister. Tommy preached many sermons over the years from Polkville Baptist to his home church Big Springs Baptist Church. In his spare time when he wasn't preaching or helping others, he loved to farm. Tommy will always be remembered by his family and friends as a big hearted loving guy who was always willing to help a person in need.

Left to cherish this loving dad and friend is his son T.R. Pruett, Jr; one daughter, Kathy Eguia; one brother, Ricky Pruett; one sister, Mildred Moore; two grandchildren. Dylan and Amanda Terry and one great-grandchildren, Elijah Ledbetter.

A private service will be held at a later date by the family
