Traci A. Harding
CHARLOTTE - Traci A. Harding passed away Monday morning, December 7, 2015 at the young age of 48 (she would have hated to be called old!) at the Carolinas Medical Center-Main. She fought bravely, but her heart could not grow anymore! She passed away due to complications of PAH, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
Traci is survived by her hard working, and just as hard headed, husband, Dave Harding; beautiful daughter, Ashley McHenry and husband Matt; her amazing grandchildren, Abbie Rose and Mason Lee, who were the loves of her life. She is also survived by her parents Barbara and Elwood (Colonel) Hicken, Jr.; Dawn (sister) and Kevin Hitt, Kim (sister) and Dan Cellamare, James (brother) and Rachael Hicken, and Barbie (sister) and Dusty Hormann; eight nephews and four nieces.
Traci loved to watch her daughter Ashley race and was always in the pit cheering her on. Her love for her daughter is incomparable. Traci's smile was contagious and her laugh infectious. She had the biggest heart, both literally and figuratively, and would do anything she could for her family and friends. While they are not blood related, her friends from the racing community could not be called anything other than family.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing medical staff at the Carolinas Medical Center-Main for seeing her through her last days with us. Their compassion and empathy for Traci and all of us was immeasurable. A special thank you to Christine, Wini and Amber.
In lieu of flowers,
Traci would have loved for donations to be made to PHA - Pulmonary Hypertension Association, 801 Roeder Rd, Suite 1000, Silver Spring, MD 20910, 301-565-3004,https://phassociation.org/give.
IN HONOR OF TRACI AND IN ORDER TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR PAH, THE FAMILY ASKS ALL THOSE ATTENDING THE SERVICE TO PLEASE WEAR PURPLE!
Her funeral will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 11, 2015 at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Rd E, Fort Mill, SC 29715 with Father John Guiliani presiding.
Arrangements are entrusted to Robert S. Morgan, Jr., Funeral Service Licensee, LLC of Fallston, NC. Online condolences at rsmorganfsl.com.
