| Vance Allen Hunt, 60, of East Spruce Street, Forest City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover. A native of Buncombe County, North Carolina, he was born on September 11, 1952, a son of the late Fred A. and Frances Penley Hunt. He retired from Wilson Art and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Golden Valley. He was also a volunteer firefighter, loved fishing, playing his guitar and working on cars.
He is survived by one son, Vance Hunt, Jr. and wife Heather of Lawndale; two daughters, Brinda Lewis and husband Jerome of Shelby and Paulette Hunt of Lithia, FL; brothers, Arnold Hunt and wife Texia of Odum, GA; sisters, Wanda Workam of Chesnee and Mary Cogdill and husband Kenneth of Lakeland, FL; his grandchildren, Joey, Elizabeth, Melissa, Ashley, Shyann, Jerome, Alisha, Marion, Bradley, Christian, Brandon, and Brittany.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Golden Valley with the Rev. Jerry Ruppe and the Rev. Dr. Rob Helton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, August 30, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
