Vanetta Ann Ward, age 75 died Friday, June 19, 2015 at Carolinas Health Care- Cleveland. Born on November 24, 1939 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Blanton Moore. Ann attended Bethel Baptist Church. She was the manager of the Little Mint and Mutts Chicken and Biscuit. Ann was a loving mother and grandmother who raised two children by herself. She enjoyed yard work, gardening and taking care of her neighbors. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Ward.

Ann is survived by a daughter, Lisa Jernigan of Shelby; three grandsons, Jackson "J. D." Jernigan, Max Harrill, and Scott Harrill all of Shelby; great grandson, Henry Thomas Jernigan; a sister, Becky Nanney and husband Danny of Shelby; and a brother, Glenn Moore and wife Betty of Lawndale.

Memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 4:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Timothy Sims officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 3:00pm until 4:00pm.
