Vangie Beheler Mellon, 92, of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Peak Resources Cherryville.

Born in Gaston County, on October 7, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Claude Beheler and Maggie Scism Beheler. She is retired from Ora Mill and was a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Carl Junior Mellon; son, Reggie Mellon; son-in-law, Norris Beatty; two brothers, Roy Mull and Jake Beheler; and two sisters, Florine Peeler and Mamie Pruitt.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Mellon and wife Kathy of Maiden and Darrell Mellon and wife Carla of Charlotte; three daughters, Katrina Beatty of Shelby, Nancy Ledford and husband, Bobby of Polkville, and Lori Scism and husband John of Kings Mountain; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Double Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with the Dr. Brian Johnson officiating.

At other times the family will be at the home of Lori and John Scism, 530 Bell Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.

Memorial may be made to Double Shoals Baptist Church, 318 Old Mill Road, Shelby, NC 28150..
