Blacksburg, SC - Vera Jean Martin, 75, of 115 Green Street, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2019 at her residence.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the daughter of the late Ed Martin and Victoria Peterson Martin. She retired from Nestle, loved gardening and was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Wise of the home; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Arvil Martin, James Martin and Jack Martin and two sisters, Isabell Martin Redmon and Kathleen Martin.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, Cherokee Co. Unit, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
