Kings Mountain -- Vera Kathleen Dover, 84, of 137 Ark Street, passed away Sunday, June 11th, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center - Lincoln.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the daughter of the late Burt Dover and Pearl Dover. Ms. Dover retired from textiles and was a member of Kings Creek Church of God.

Surviving Ms. Dover are a son, Billy Ray Griffin, of the home, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Dover was preceded in death by three sons, Roger Dean Griffin, George Eugene Griffin, and Lawrence Pinkney Griffin, and a granddaughter, Melissa Griffin.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 16th, 2017, at 1:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
