Vera Mae Lowery age 71 died on Thursday February 25, 2016. Born in Catawba County on February 25, 1945, she was the daughter of the late James Cletus and Mayzelle Lorene Smith Pruitt.

Vera was a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church and was the owner of Vera's Beauty Shop in Grover. Vera enjoyed making crafts. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, J. C. Pruitt and Bobby Pruitt and a sister, Sue Taylor.

Vera is survived by her husband of 39 years, John Lowery; two daughters, Becky Ellis and husband Mike of Grover and Lavonda Morgan of Gaffney, SC; four sisters, Levon Hoyle of Grover, NC; Beadie Self, Peggy Robertson, and Mary Lou Dellinger all of Cherryville, NC; three grandchildren, Angela, Jeffrey and Lisa; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Patterson Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Waters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
