Vergie Mae Shalp Sanders, 78 of Broad Street, Shelby passed away, Friday,
March 22, 2019 at home.

Born July 21, 1940 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Raymond John Thomas Grover Shalp and Bessie Lee Green Shalp. She was
retired from the Snack Shop in Fallston and Jackson Cafeteria. Ms. Sanders
was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby
Clinton Sanders and a sister, Helen Ledbetter.

Survivors include three sons, Roger Dale Cody of Shelby, Bobby Sanders of
Lincolnton and Jerry Sanders of Dallas; three daughters, Patricia Cody
Morrow of Shelby, Barbara Marie Moore of Kings Mountain and Helen Elaine
Cloninger of Blacksburg, SC; two brothers, Bobby Shalp of Gastonia and Tommy
Shalp of Shelby; two sisters, Betty Martin of Gastonia and Linda Shalp of
Shelby; twenty-five grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral
Home.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. John Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Shelby.
