Vernon Ray Beaver
Vernon Ray Beaver, 89, of 209 West Main Street, Lawndale, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Born June 1, 1924 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Capus Ray Beaver and Hattie Peeler Beaver.  He was retired from J & C Dyeing and was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school
teacher. Mr. Beaver was a member of Lawndale American Legion Post #302 and served in the US Army during WWII.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Wray Beaver; two brothers, Johnny Beaver and Guy Beaver and a sister, Bryte Beaver Cook.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Beaver of Lawndale; daughter, Margie Rabb (Gene) of Shelby; two brothers, C.R. Beaver, Jr. (Diane) and Warren Beaver (Millie) all of Shelby; sister, Ruth Canipe of Boiling Springs; grandson whom he raised as his own, Tony Beaver (Susan) of Polkville; granddaughter, Angie Butler Hutchison (Robert) of Shelby; loving "Paw Paw" to five great-grandchildren, Tiffany Butler, T.J. Butler, Dylan Beaver, Emily Beaver and Kendall Hutchison; one great-great grandchild, Alivia Gullatte; special friend, Carolyn Wilson of Huntersville and beloved dog, Sam.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston

Funeral Service: 12:00 PM, Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston

Officiating: Rev. Jim Kilby

Burial: will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
