Lincolnton – Mrs. Vickie McSwain Hovis, 56, of 1005 Bethel Church Rd. passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her residence.

Vickie was born on March 14, 1956 a daughter of the late Charles Lester McSwain and Barbara Brittain McSwain.  She was employed by Mohican Mills and was a member of Gainesville Baptist Church in Lincolnton and she loved God first and foremost. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jethro and Annie Bess McSwain and Forest and Lura Mae Goodson Brittain; great grandparents, Bert and Texie Bess and J.C. Goodson.

Survivors include her husband, Michael E. Hovis of the home; a sister Robin Heavner of Iron Station and many friends and pets.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 9:45 until 10:45am at Gainesville Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 11:00am at Gainesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Rice officiating.

Burial will be at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly.
