Virginia Parker Doty, age 79, of Forest City, NC, died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Virginia was born September 1, 1934 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Robert Parker and Mary Irene Bradley Parker. She was a homemaker and a primary caretaker for her daughter. She was a Baptist and enjoyed cooking and watching episodes of “I Love Lucy” and “Little House on the Prairie.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Doty; sister, Hattie Sue Greene and two brothers, Clarence Lee Parker and Samuel Ray Parker.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Doty, Mary Jackson and husband, Danny and Robin Doty all of Forest City; four sisters, Martha Lou Greene, Myrtle Conner, Jessie Mae Smith all of Rutherfordton and Cathy Waters of Gilkey; three brothers, Charles Robert Parker, Joseph Jody Parker and Raymond Rupert Parker all of Spindale. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great granchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
