OVER 2 TONS OF LITTER PICKED UP IN SPRING OF 2013

Last spring, over 4,000 lbs. of litter was collected from different places around the city and disposed of properly (recycled or thrown away). Thank you, to all the volunteers, for your time and service this past spring to help keep Shelby beautiful!
The temperatures are dropping and the leaves are soon to follow. Anyone who would like to participate in a fall litter sweep is invited to do so. Keep Shelby Beautiful will host one litter sweep per month, now through November. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up any time.
Keep Shelby Beautiful knows that clean communities are not just nice to look at – they are economically vibrant and environmentally healthy places where people want to live, work, shop and play. Service to the community is the ultimate declaration of love for where you live and for the people you share it with. Volunteer service is an important way that anyone can contribute to improving the quality of life in the community.
