Walter "Ed" Eddie Gantt, 69, passed away on December 20, 2025 at 10:00 PM at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

He was born on September 21, 1956, in NC and was the son of Nancy Ann Gilbert Gantt of Lincolnton and the late Walter "Shorty" Billy Gantt. He was a former electrician and member of Reeps Grove United Methodist Church. Ed enjoyed fiddling with the guitar, but he loved photography and working with his camera.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son Josh Gantt and wife Disa of Lincolnton; daughter, Emily Davis and husband Tim of Lincolnton; two sisters, Toni "Tonette" Richmond of Lincolnton and Crickett Gantt of Lincolnton; and five grandchildren, Kialyn Gantt, Laynie Gantt, Maisleigh Gantt, Molly Davis and Chloe Davis.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jonathan LeMaster-Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
