Mr. Walter Edmond Warren, age 65 of Shelby, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mildred Jeanette (Arrowood) Warren of the home, three children, Loretta Short and husband Charles of Shelby, NC, Sandy Blanton and husband James of Kings Mountain, NC, and Tim Warren and wife Jada of Shelby, NC, eight grandchildren, Kyle Short, Sierra Blanton, Jessica Blanton, Ryker Blanton, Riley Blanton, Chase Blanton, Jacey Warren, and Kayley Warren, two great grandchildren, Aubree Short and Caleb Gunter, two brothers, Jack Warren and Gene Warren, two sisters, Vivian Ward and husband Terry and Evelina Swank, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born October 29, 1949 in Cleveland County, Mr. Warren was the son of the late Arthur and Mae (Oaks) Warren and was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Hamrick and a brother, Bill Warren.

Walter enjoyed watching football and baseball games, gardening, traveling to the beach, and spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Dennis Harmon. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Walter Warren Burial Fund, 1510-3 Stoney Point Road, Shelby, NC 28150.
