Waylan Tyree Washburn Jr., 75, of Ladell Lane, died Fri., Oct. 24 2014, at Kings Mountain Hospital.  A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Waylan Tyree Sr. and Sarah Frances Barnette Washburn.  He served in the Army and retired from AB Carter Inc. in Gastonia.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Washburn Godfrey and Patsy Washburn Allman; brother, Billy Gene Washburn.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, June Peace Washburn, of the home; sons, Warren Washburn and wife Wendy of Shelby, and Patrick Washburn of Charlotte; daughter, Tara Washburn, of the home; sister, Erlene Greene and husband Roy of Fla; brothers, Charles Washburn and wife Sue of Greenville, SC, Troy Washburn and wife Trudy of Lattimore, Carl Washburn and wife Malinda of Shelby, Johnny Washburn and wife Brenda of Miss; sister-in-law, Sue Washburn of Rutherfordton.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Tuesday, 11a.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel  

VISITATION:  The family will receive friends Monday, 6-7:30p.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home
