Wayne Langley, age 66, of Henrietta, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Levine Dickson Hospice of Huntersville, NC.
Born on Saturday, June 17, 1950 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Robert Langley and Lula Mae Pruett Langley. Wayne served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked in textiles most of his life until retirement. He faithfully attended High Shoal Baptist Church and was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Henrietta. Wayne enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, and watching wrestling and NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by paternal grandparents, Leroy and Modena Langley and maternal grandparents, Walter and Ethel Pruett.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Langley and Rita Langley both of Thomasville, NC; one sister, Rita Crotts and husband, Jackie of Blacksburg, SC. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Devin, Destiny, Drake and Brayden.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
