Wayne Moore Thomas, 75, 147 Whites Farm Road, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord January 27, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. A native of Blacksburg, he was the husband of Patsy Fowler Thomas of the home and a son of the late Neely and Minerva Moore Thomas. He was a retired district manager with Southern Bell. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. He served with Hospice Community Care, was an aviator and helped sponsor the Blacksburg Oyster Roast.
In addition to his wife, Patsy, he is survived by two sons - Chris Thomas and Joseph Thomas both of Blacksburg, SC; three grandsons - Erin Thomas, Cody Thomas and Aubrey Thomas; and two brothers - Neal A. Thomas of West Columbia, TX, and Gary Thomas of Blacksburg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son - Gregory Charles Thomas and one daughter - Kimberly Thomas.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 30, 2017, from 1-2:00 PM, at Mt. Paran Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM, with Revs. Lee Coyle and Vernon Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, they will be at the home.
Pallbearers serving are Danny Fulton, Gene Fulton, Tommy Neal, Johnny Hulsey, Kevin Van Laningham, Joe Thomas and Erin Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers serving are Chuck Greene, Mason Thompson, the Men's Sunday School Class and members of the Blacksburg Oyster Roast team.
