Mr. Cook was born in Cleveland County on December 10, 1931 a son of the late John Wesley Cook and Mary Lee White Cook.  He attended North Brook Baptist Church and was retired from Drexel Furniture as a sander.

Survivors include two sons, Earl Lee Cook and Wilburt Wesley Cook, Jr. both of Lincolnton; three daughters, Judy Gladden, Betty Baugham and Nora Sue Cook all of Cherryville; three brothers, Everette James Cook of Vale, Ralph Nesbitt Cook of Marion and Jay Cook of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 12:45 to 1:45p.m. at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel and other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clayton Hudson officiating.

Burial will be in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
