William “Bill” Eura Blanton peacefully went home to our Lord Friday, December 6, 2013 at his daughter’s home in Fort Collins, Colorado.  He was born December 15, 1922 in Gaston County to the late Eura and Moseline Blanton.

Bill participated in Methodist Lay Witness Missions, was active with Methodist Men and was a member of Friendship Methodist Church.  He served in the Army Air Force during WWII.  Bill retired from JP Stevens.

Bill taught his children that priorities in life are God, spouse, children and family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Wright Blanton, infant brother, Cloy Blanton and a sister, Frances Blanton Bettis.

Survivors include his children, Bill Dunaway and wife Trudy, Donna McKinney, Tina Rachels and husband Lem, Amy Jones and husband Roy, Robin Blanton and wife Sherry, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren;  siblings: Roland Blanton and wife Mary Sue, Dot Vance, Jeanette Ellis, Edris Melton and husband Arvin, Scott Blanton and wife Carol, Margaret Greene and husband, Barry and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 1 to 2pm at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will follow at 2pm in the Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston.

Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
