William Bruce Hord, Sr.

William Bruce Hord, Sr. passed away February 27, 2016 at home under the care
of Hospice and surrounded by his family.

Born October 23, 1937 he was the son of the late Richard Paul Hord, Sr. and
Geneve Beam Hord. He was a lifelong member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
He was a retired "C" Crew Shift Mechanic of Celanese (Fiber) plant in Earl.
He was known as "the Plumber" by his coworkers, friends and customers
because of his side business doing residential plumbing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William
Bruce Hord, Jr.; In-laws William Lawrence & Helen Ward Brackett; four
brothers-in-law, Giles G. Solomon, Andrew Grady Allen, Donald Ward
Brackett, and Barry Wayne Blackburn, Sr.

Survivors include wife of 55 years Shirley Brackett Hord; son, Robert Ray
(Bobby) Hord and wife Terri Stinchcomb Hord; granddaughter, Sarah Hord
Ashworth and husband Kyle David Ashworth; great-grandson, Luke Ian
Ashworth; grandson, William Ty Hord; brothers, Richard Paul Hord, Jr and
Jerry Stephen Hord and wife Cindy Turner Hord; sister, Betty Hord Solomon;
sisters-in-law, Marlene Brackett Allen, Phyllis Richards Brackett, and Linda
Brackett Blackburn; sisters-in-law and spouses, Diane Brackett and Harry
Jenkins Mauney, Betty Brackett and Dennis Walter Towery, Sr. and Patty
Brackett and Michael S Hamrick; and also many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, February
28, 2016 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Fallston, NC. A guest register is
available at www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 29, 2016 at New
Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Brackett will be officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston, NC.
