William Dutton Maddox, age 79 died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Wendover Hospice. Born in Clinton SC on January 6, 1936 he was the son of the late Samuel Stedham and Frances Violet Dutton Maddox. William was a member of the Alpine Community Church in Menlo, GA. William served as an Intelligence officer in the U. S. Army at Fort Bragg and received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. William retired as a Real Estate Appraiser from Decatur Federal and was a former Vice President of Cobb Federal Savings and Loan in Marietta, GA.

William is survived by a son, William D. Maddox Jr. of GA.; a daughter, Lee Maddox Byrd of Kings Mountain; a brother, Sam Maddox and wife Maria of Murphy; two grandchildren, Will Clay of Kings Mountain and Hunter Southerland of Warner Robins Ga.; niece and nephew, Debi Maddox Cassidy and husband John of Marietta GA., and Greg Maddox and wife Andrea of Colorado; and many great nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held in Menlo Georgia.
