William E. "Bill" Bridges, age 91, resident of Kings Mountain, NC went to be with his Lord on September 10, 2015 at the Testa Family Hospice House. He was born in Cleveland Co. NC to the late Miles Luther Sidney Bridges and Minnie Lee Huffstickler Bridges. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mildred Mullinax Bridges; daughter, Judy Bridges Putnam; son, William Terry Bridges; brothers, Clyde Bridges, Frank Bridges, Robert Bridges; sisters, Nina Camp, Brunell Bryant, Lillian Davis, Edith Carpenter; nieces and nephews. Mr. Bridges was an active and loyal member of Westover Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC where he served in many capacities including teacher and deacon. He was a founding member of the church and assisted in the construction of their church building. He was a longtime barber and owned and operated Bridges Barber Shop for over 62 years. Mr. Bridges considered his customers as his extended family and was always willing to share the Love of Jesus with his customers and friends. He was well known for giving candy and gum to children and considered them as his own. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Tank Division. Mr. Bridges will be remembered as an intelligent, hardworking, and loving man who was always willing to help others.
