William Edwin Murray, 60, of Stacey St., died July 24, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Morehead City, NC on August 30, 1953, a son of the late William Edwin and Alice March Murray. Mr. Murray was a veteran of the US Army, former member of the American Legion and the DAV, and formerly employed at Gordon Crowell Hospital.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Jean Slachetka.
Survivors include his fiancée Judy Hubbard, son Jeremy Lee Murray(Charlie Watkins) of Mocksville , sister Pat Thompson Stich (Ron), of Tuscon, step son Donald Hubbard(Christina) of Ellenboro, step daughter Lisa Cardwell, Gastonia, nephew Bryan Thompson, Cherryville, two step grandchildren James and Benjamin Hubbard.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at Carpenter’s Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30-10:45 AM.
