William Eugene "Red" Ramsey

Blacksbug -- William Eugene "Red" Ramsey, 92, of 442 North Rutherford Street, passed away Friday, April 6th, 2018, at Mary Black-Gaffney.

Born in Hickory Grove in York County, he was the widower of Juanita Ramsey, his wife of 70 years, and the son of the late Eddie Ramsey and TeeAnne Jackson Ramsey Morgan. Mr. Ramsey retired as a Truck Driver.

Mr. Ramsey is survived by three sons, Steve Ramsey and wife, Matril, of York, SC, Jerry Ramsey and wife, Carol, of Hickory Grove, SC, and Ted Ramsey of Blacksburg, SC; one brother, Eddie Ramsey, Jr., of Sarrento, LA; two sisters, Geraldine Ramsey Teague of Goose Creek, SC and Shirley Ramsey Wright of Supply, NC; five grandchildren, Col. Craig Ramsey of Minoe Air Force Base, ND, Kevin Ramsey of York, SC, Stephen Ramsey of Gaffney, SC, Eddie Ramsey of Hickory Grove, SC, and Chrystal Sewell of Blacksburg, SC; and seven great-grandchildren, Amber, Brooklyn, Caroline, James, Kathryn Ramsey, Chloe Harwick, and Jacey Sewell.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Ramsey Stewart.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 9 from 2:00 - 3:00 at Gordon Motuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at Gordon Mortuary Chapel at 3:00 pm with Rev. Mickey Mullinax officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Stephen Ramsey, Eddie Ramsey, Kevin Ramsey, and James Ramsey will serve as pallbearers.
