William Eugene Ricker, 85, of 1681 Fallston Rd, Shelby, passed away
Saturday, March 3, 2012 at his home.
Gene was born in Roane County, Tennessee on September 28, 1926, to the late
Timothy Ricker and Florence Collins Ricker. He was a member of Mull's
Memorial Baptist Church and the Shelby VFW. Gene retired from Cleveland
Lumber Company in the shop after forty plus years of service, and also
Beaver Dam Auto Auction. He also served in the US Navy during World War II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dale
Ricker and sister Muriel Ricker.
He is survived by his daughter, Jackie Hoyle and husband Greg of Casar; two
grandchildren, Jacob Hoyle and Hannah Hoyle both of Casar; two
great-grandchildren, Maggie Shytle and Emma Hoyle; long time companion,
Margie Self of Lincolnton; second family, children, David Self and wife
Donna of Lincolnton, Cissy Anderson of Lincolnton and Karen Hurt and
husband Jeff of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Amanda Hilton and husband Billy,
and Jeffery Hurt and wife Kelli; and great-grandchild, McKinley Hilton.
The family would also like to thank the dear friends, at Cleveland Lumber
Company and Helping Hands, that have visited and helped throughout Gene's
illness.

Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Mull's Memorial Baptist Church, Shelby.
