William Harley Davidson

William Harley Davidson age 76, of Shelby, NC died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Kings Mountain Hospice. Born in Cleveland County on January 19, 1939 he was the son of the late Willard Woodrow and Mary Elizabeth Melton Davidson. He was a graduate of No # 3 High School. He joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Harley was a member and former deacon of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a driver for Carolina Freight for a number of years and went to work for USF Holland where he retired. Harley was a former member of Cleveland Masonic Lodge #202 AF & AM. He enjoyed playing golf, watching NASCAR and Carolina basketball. In his retirement days, his favorite thing to do was taking care of his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, Harley is preceded in death by a sister, Sybil Ledford; and two brothers, Larry Davidson and Harold Davidson

Harley is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Wright Davidson; two sons, Teddy Davidson of Dresden, TN. and Bob Davidson of Hendersonville; a daughter, Hayley Lowery and husband Jason of Shelby; three brothers, Charles Davidson and wife Karen of Shelby, Gene Davidson of Cherryville, and Carroll Davidson and wife Sharolyn of Conover; seven grandchildren, Tyler Davidson, Corey Davidson, Martha Davidson, Hayley Davidson, Grayson Lowery, Carson Lowery, and Emerson Lowery; and three great grandchildren, Aalayah Crisp, Omar Crisp, and Jeannie Davidson.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Doug Dickens officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
