William John Ferris, Jr. of 708 Crescent Dr., formerly of Charlotte, died Dec. 12, 2012 at Carolina Medical Center Lincoln. He was born on March 15, 1927 in Mecklenburg Co a son of the late William and Johnsie Holbrook Ferris, Sr.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Marilyn Ferris Singleton Brantley.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Betty Lawing Ferris, two children George William Ferris and wife Patricia of Lincolnton and Marguerite Ferris Hiatt and husband Ron of Charlotte, eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
A private Memorial service will be held at a later date in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The family will receive friends at the home.
