William Richard Morgan, 76, of 116 East Pine Street, passed away on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, at Mary Black Health System - Spartanburg.

Born in Nashville, TN, he was the husband of Mary Kathryn Carr Morgan and the son of the late William Andrew Morgan and Elma Fowler Morgan. Mr. Morgan retired as a truck driver and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Blacksburg.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Morgan is survived by one son, William Richard Morgan II; one daughter, Wendy Michelle Morgan; two step-daughters, Shelia Hutchins and Karla McMahan; four grandchildren, Alise Morgan, Hannah Steinecke, Kayla Sarratt, Ashton McMahan; one great-grandchild, Bryley Steinecke; and his nephew, Andy Williams. He was a veteran of the US Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Sterling Morgan, W.T. Morgan, Jody Morgan, Dennie Morgan, Lura Morgan, and Jo Williams.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery, 101 Mountain View Drive, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702 with Rev. Eric Sellers officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
