William Stephen Haskins, 71, of 104 Benfield Rd., died Sunday Nov. 19, 2012 at Kings Mountain Hospice House.
He was born on Nov. 6, 1941 in Cleveland Co., a son of the late Heber Augustus and Ruby Needland Haskins. Mr. Haskins was retired textile mechanic and a member of Gloryland Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant daughter Running Water Haskins, a great grandson, and a sister Debra Gladden
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Barbara Jane Anthony Haskins, children and spouses Anita and Kelly Kowalczyk, Kings Mountain, Clarence and Lisa Haskins , Dallas, Denita and Marc Canipe, Kings Mountain, Juanita and Ted Ledford, Crouse, and Will and Sherry Haskins, Lowell, seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, six brothers Larry, Johnny, Raymond, Bobby, Jerry, and Emmett Haskins, three sisters Billie Hamrick, Linda Ledbetter and Shelia Haskins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 PM at Christian Freedom Baptist Church, Kings Mountain with Rev. Ricky Sigmon and Rev. Mike Chambers officiating with burial in New Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at Carpenter’s funeral Home and at other times at the home.
