Willie R. "Slick" Pow

Cherryville - Mr. Willie R. "Slick" Pow, 74, of 507 N. Elm St., passed away
on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings
Mountain.

Slick was born in Greenwood, SC on February 15, 1941 a son of the late
Willie R. Pow, Sr. and Floriee "Flo" Able Boyles. He was retired as a truck
driver from Carolina Freight and G & P Trucking and after retirement worked
for the City of Cherryville. Slick was a member of First Baptist Church in
Cherryville. He was also a member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 A.F. &
A.M., Charlotte Scottish Rite Bodies, Oasis Shrine Temple and Cherryville
Shrine Club. Slick enjoyed playing his guitar, singing and entertaining
people. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Chuck Pow.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Linda Daves Pow, of the home; a
daughter and son-in-law Dana Brittain and Shane of Cherryille; three sisters
Patsy Deloach of Greenwood, SC, Judy Dellinger of Crouse, and JoHayes of
Cherryville; grandchildren, Dana Pow of Concord and Christian Brittain of
Cherryville; great-grandchidlren, Aryssa and Dayl'e Pow; special family
members, John Silveri, Laura Ann Owings and husband Andy.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 1:30PM to 2:45PM at
First Baptist Church in Cherryville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM at First Baptsit Church in
Cherryville, with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating.

Miltary Rites will be provided by Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor
Guard and Masonic Rites by Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 A.F. & A.M.

Burial will be Private.
