Winnie Mullinax Collins, 80, of Shelby, NC, and formerly of Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord August 3, 2013, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, SC, she was married to the late James Franklin Collins and a daughter of the late Ralph and Viola Sellars Mullinax. She was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC. She was an avid football and NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Cook and husband, Roger, of Blacksburg, SC; one grandson, Justin Cook of Washington, DC; and one sister, Shirley Childers of Ft. Mill, SC.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 3-4:00 PM at Mt. Paran Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 4:00 PM with Rev. Jay Clever officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter, 1617 N. Mountain St., Blacksburg, SC.
