| Wofford Campbell Martin, 83, of 718 Hopewell Road, passed away Thursday, May 26th, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Blacksburg, Mr. Martin was the husband of Lois Hambright Martin of the home and the son of the late William Jefferson Martin and Anne Elizabeth Mitchell Martin. Mr. Martin retired from textiles, was a past Master of Buffalo Lodge #202 AFM, was a member of Cherokee County, York County, and Shelby Bee Keeper Association, was a member of the Cherokee County Cattlemen Association, was a former member of the the Cherokee National Dance Club, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blacksburg.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Lois; a son, Wofford Campbell Martin, Jr. of Blacksburg; and two grandchildren, Angela Martin of Gaffney and Amy Martin of Lake Bowen.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by a brother, W.J. Martin, and two sisters, Elizabeth Washburn and Rebecca Martin.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 28th, 2011 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 29th, at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg with Rev. Scott Hammett officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will be at the residence.
