Wray Pinkney Ledford

Mr. Wray Pinkney Ledford, 87, of 1335 Lithia Springs Road, Shelby, passed
away Monday, December 29 at his residence.
Born in Cleveland County on August 6, 1927, he was a son of the late
Plato and Ollie Rowe Ledford. Mr. Ledford was a faithful member of Ross
Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and usher. He retired from
Doran Textiles as a supervisor and served in the Army.
Mr. Ledford, "Paw Paw Wray," was a loving husband, father, brother,
grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all. Mr. Ledford loved to
garden, tinker in his workshop, and volunteer for his church. His greatest
joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren
and attending their various school and sporting events. He enjoyed
traveling especially with his family to the beach and the mountains. His
dog, Jersey, was his faithful companion.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ledford was preceded in death by his
wife, Catherine Chapman Ledford; brothers, Ellis and Earl Ledford; and
sister, Juanita Wright.
He is survived by four daughters, Beverly Ledford, Pamela Ledford,
Sharon Tesseneer and Laura Nguyen and husband, Van all of Shelby; brother,
Walter Ledford of Shallotte; sister,Edna Lunsford of Asheboro;
grandchildren, Leslie Edwards and husband, David of Shelby, Meghan Cantu of
Boone, John Cantu of Shelby, and Madden Nguyen of Shelby; and great
grandchildren, Taylor, Aubry, Gracey and Mallory Edwards.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home in Fallston.
Funeral: The service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Ross Grove Baptist
Church in Shelby.
Officiating: Rev. Chase Thompson
Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston
