Yates Franklin "Tripp" Mauney, III age 40 of Mary's Grove Church Rd. died Friday, July 31, 2015. He was born on June 29, 1975 to the late Yates Franklin "Buck" Mauney, II and Linda Marie Carpenter Mauney. Tripp was an electrician with Dellinger Electric and worked part time with Pet Heaven Cemetery and Crematory. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved his dogs and all animals. Tripp adored his son and enjoyed coaching little league and playing ball with Cooper.
He is survived by his fiancé, Summer Abernathy; son, Cooper Dixon Mauney; uncles, Jerry "Buck" Carpenter and David Yates Mauney and wife, Barbara; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Steve Wright officiating. Burial will be private at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Cooper Mauney Fund, c/o BB&T, 1001 E Church St, Cherryville, NC 28021.
