Mr. Yates Joe Shytle, 77, passed away Friday, November 4, at
Peak Resources in Shelby.
Born April 4, 1934 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Paul Yates
Shytle and Daisy Catherine Ledford Shytle. Mr. Shytle was a self employed
farmer and the custodian for Polkville Baptist Church. He was a member of
Polkville Baptist Church . Joe loved his family and was always there for
them. He was a faithful caregiver for his dear mother. The family would like
to express their deep appreciation for the staff at Peak Resources.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law,
Lee Roy Bumgardner.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Linda Shytle , two
sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby & Shannon White and Ethel & C.J. (Pete)
Pedersen all of Polkville, nieces and nephews, Dennis & Barbara Bumgardner,
Gina & David Spangler, Gary & Ann White, Charles Shytle, great nieces and
nephews, Leslie & Seth Phillips, Robbie & Sarah Bumgardner, Hunter
Bumgardner, Brandon White, Emily & Thomas Spangler, Joe & Shenna Shytle,
Paul Shytle, Hannah & Garrett Holland, great great nieces & nephews, Zackary
& Kaylee Phillips, Jonathan Bumgardner, and Maggie Shytle.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 5 from 5:00 until 7:00PM
at Stamey Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 3PM at Polkville Baptist Church with
the Revs. Rick Hamrick and Dale Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the
church cemetery.
