Yvonne was born on December 1, 1952 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Joseph McCurry and Nancy Wright McCurry.  She worked at Stonecutter Mill most of her life and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening and was known for her ability to love and give to others. 

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Cogdell and a second husband, Stephen Roach.

     Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Greene of Ellenboro; two sons, Ronald Cogdell also of Ellenboro and Jerry Cogdell; one sister, Debra McCraw of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Dale McCurry of North Carolina and Joseph McCurry of Fort Mill, SC; one grandson, Justin Greene of Ellenboro and two great-grandchildren, Alex Carroll and Austin Carroll.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Harrelson Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Toney officiating.  Interment will follow in the Caroleen-Henrietta Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
