Zettie Neill Morrison, 102 years old, of Cherryville passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017 at Carillon Assisted Living Facilities in Lincolnton where she has resided the past four years. She was born December 6, 1914 in Gaston County to the late James Newton and Mincey Short Neill. She was formerly employed with B Brown & Assoc. in Newton and was a member at First Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, JD Morrison; sisters, Lula Hullender and Ollie Humphries and brothers, Flay Neill and Louis Barrett.
Those left to cherish her memory is her sister, Lorene Summey; daughters, Carolyn Stokes of Conover and Brenda Crain and husband, Kenneth of Lawndale; grandson, Douglas Brandon Nyhof and wife, Melissa; great- grandchildren, Rebekah Nyhof, Achaia Nyhof, Spencer Nyhof, Griffin Sheppard and Haley-Ashton Sheppard; a very special friend, Taylor Upton and the wonderful caregivers at Carillon Assisted Living.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church in Cherryville with Rev. Mark Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 12:45 PM at the church.
