CCC Awards Practical Nursing Pins
Fifteen students in the Practical Nursing program were awarded pins during a special ceremony held at Cleveland Community College. The ceremony was held in the Student Activities Center on Thursday, August 2.
Following the processional by Michael Sisk, the new nurses were welcomed by CCC President Dr. L. Steve Thornburg. The invocation was given by student April Rollins. Jessica Cabe and Cassandra Ooten introduced the nursing faculty and guest speaker. Adjunct Instructor Tina Lewis served as speaker for the evening and Discipline Coordinator Sherry Hamrick and Practical Nursing Instructor Anne Wise conducted the presentation of pins and led the practical nursing pledge.
The Practical Nursing Diploma at CCC is a competitive program that prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to children and adults. The practical nursing class of 2013 had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX on their first attempt. For more information about this program visit, www.clevelandcc.edu.
