“Jace Man Run” Raises Over $24,000 For APC
Saturday I had the honor, along with several other bikers, to ride with Spanky (Terry Panther) to deliver the money raised at this year’s JACE MAN RUN and present it to the Abuse Prevention Council (APC). The total amount raised was $24,005.18! It occurred to me that many of my FB friends may not know the story behind Wendy Panther and the Jace Man Run. Out of much love and respect for my CCIB sister/friend, I’d like to give a short explanation of this annual event. In August of 2007, Wendy’s five month old nephew Jace fell victim to abuse and lost his life. Because of this, Wendy and her husband Spanky created the Jace Man Run to raise money for the APC. Tragically on Sept. 7, 2012, just one short week after last year’s Jace Man Run, at only 51 years of age, our Wendy was suddenly called home to be with the Lord. Wendy loved children and put her heart and soul into raising money to put an end to child abuse. This year’s Jace Man Run was lovingly dedicated in her memory. She believed that one day the Jace Man Run would hit the $20,000 mark.  It was with her smiling down from above that it brought in much more. I hope by posting this, that many, who didn’t know the story behind this event, will come out next year and make it even greater. Pictured is  Spanky and Snake accepting a Certificate of Appreciation from APC’s Cathy Roberson, Executive Director of the Abuse Prevention Council. Please take note of the “special” addition in the back left of the photo. It needs no words. The photoshopped addition was created by Wendy’s loving goddaughter, Melissa Jones. Thank you for taking the time to read this, as it was written with love and tears about one of the most amazing people I’ve ever had the privilege to know, my friend and sister Wendy (sweet-n-low) Blanton Panther. We love and miss you!
