Robert Lee Moore

Rev. Robert Lee Moore was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was an inspiring teacher, and mentor. He was well known in Shelby as "Bread" to his childhood friends. Robert Lee Moore, 72 of Lancaster, California departed his life on December 13, 2024. He was born on December 30, 1951, in Cleveland County, North Carolina.
Robert graduated from Shelby Senior High School and worked for Copeland, Reliance, and Cleveland County Schools in Shelby. He later moved to Lancaster, California, where he continued his career at the local high school district.
Robert began his ministry as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Ellis Chapel and served in the Ebenezer Association. He later became a member of Palmer Grove Baptist Church. After earning his Associate of Religion/Church Ministry degree from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute in Hendersonville, NC, he was called to serve as pastor of Green Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Under his leadership, the church saw significant growth in Sunday school and mid-week Bible study attendance. He also mentored others overseas and helped launch the church's first Summer School program, broke ground on the Life Center, and increased Vacation Bible School participation.
Robert was preceded in death by his father John; mother , Mary Louise Moore; brother, Jimmy "Weebone" Moore. He leaves to love and cherish his memory his wife of 47 years Carla "Freda" Moore of Lancaster, California. Children Kenneth (Paula) Hamrick of Gaffney, South Carolina, Maurice Moore of Beverly Hills, California, Laquisha Goodloe of Palmdale, California. He also survived by his brother, Steve Moore of Shelby, North Carolina; sister's Priscilla (James) Wright of Hickory, North Carolina, Bonita Gail Moore of Shelby, North Carolina, Mary (Jim) Blanks of Kansas City, Missouri; brother's, Bishop Michael (Sandra) Moore, Dwight Moore, Gregory Moore of Shelby, North Carolina and 5 grandchildren, uncle and many other relatives and friends. Services was held on January 10, 2024. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
